Hey girl! Welcome to Godfidence Magazine, your online go-to for all things faith, confidence, and inspiration. This quarter, we’re focusing on the theme “Girl Code”—a deep dive into what it means to be bold, purposeful, and unshakable in God’s truth. And for this cover story, we’re bringing you the ultimate vibes: 5 young women from the Bible who stepped up, stood out, and showed us how to live with confidence in Christ—no matter your age.
Whether you’re balancing exams, dealing with relationships, or figuring out what God has planned for your life, these biblical young women have something to teach us. Grab your iced coffee (or hot tea if you’re feeling cozy), and DONT do sleepovers!! Sorry we jumped the gun that’s content for Real Talk sometime in this Quarter. let’s unpack their stories together.
1. Mary: The Teenager Who Said Yes to God
Scripture: Luke 1:26-38 (NLT)
Let’s talk about Mary, a small-town girl with a big assignment. When she was likely a teenager, an angel appeared to her saying she would give birth to Jesus, the Savior of the world. Um, can you imagine getting news like that?! But instead of panicking, Mary said: “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true” (Luke 1:38, NLT).
Mary teaches us that saying “yes” to God doesn’t mean you have all the answers—it just means you trust the One who does. It’s okay to feel nervous about stepping into what God is calling you to do (like starting a new project, club, or job). What matters is showing up with faith, even when the road ahead looks intimidating. Its knowing you don’t got this but God does.
2. Miriam: The Brave Big Sister
Scripture: Exodus 2:1-10 (NLT)
Miriam was just a kid when she played a critical role in saving her baby brother, Moses. Pharaoh had ordered all Hebrew baby boys to be killed, but Miriam’s mom placed Moses in a basket and sent him down the Nile River. Miriam followed the basket from the riverbank, and when Pharaoh’s daughter found it, Miriam confidently said: “Should I go and find one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?” (Exodus 2:7, NLT).
Her quick thinking helped Moses grow up safely—and he later became the man who led the Israelites out of Egypt. Lesson? Even when you’re young, your boldness and faith can have huge ripple effects. You may feel like what you’re doing now is small, but God can use it in ways you’d never imagine.
3. Esther: The Queen Who Risked It All
Scripture: Esther 4:14-16 (NLT)
Here’s the tea on Esther: She was a young girl who became queen in a foreign land, but her life wasn’t all glamour and tiaras. When her people, the Jews, were targeted for genocide, Esther’s cousin Mordecai reminded her: “Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14, NLT).
What did Esther do? She risked her life to approach the king and advocate for her people, saying: “If I must die, I must die” (Esther 4:16, NLT). Spoiler: She didn’t die, and her bravery saved an entire nation.
Here’s the Girl Code takeaway: Sometimes God puts you in a specific place at a specific time to make an impact. Whether it’s standing up for someone in class, helping a friend through a tough season, or being a light in your family, you are where you are for a reason.
4. The Servant Girl: The Unsung Hero
Scripture: 2 Kings 5:1-3 (NLT)
Ever felt like you’re stuck in the background? Let me introduce you to the young servant girl in Naaman’s household. Naaman, a respected army commander, had leprosy. Leprosy in biblical times was like the ultimate “social nope” disease—causing skin issues, isolating people from society. Only God’s miraculous touch could heal both the body and the reputation. This unnamed girl spoke up, saying: “I wish my master would go to see the prophet in Samaria. He would heal him of his leprosy” (2 Kings 5:3, NLT).
Her suggestion led Naaman to the prophet Elisha, who miraculously healed him. Here’s what we can learn from her: Your voice matters, even if you feel small. You don’t need a big title or a loud personality to make a difference. Whether you’re sharing your faith or simply being kind, God can use you right where you are.
5. Jairus’s Daughter: Proof of God’s Power
Scripture: Mark 5:35-42 (NLT)
Let’s finish with a literal resurrection story. Jairus’s daughter was a young girl who died—but that wasn’t the end of her story. When everyone thought it was over, Jesus stepped in, took her by the hand, and said: “Little girl, get up!” And the girl, who was twelve years old, immediately stood up and walked around!” (Mark 5:41-42, NLT).
While this girl didn’t take bold action herself, her story reminds us that God’s power is greater than anything we face. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, uncertainty, or self-doubt, remember this: With Jesus, there’s always hope. He can breathe life into the areas of your life that feel “dead.”

What’s the Girl Code?
These stories aren’t just Bible lessons—they’re life lessons. Here’s the Girl Code straight from the lives of these young women:
- Be Available (like Mary): God’s plans don’t wait for “the perfect time.”
- Be Bold (like Miriam): Don’t let fear stop you from taking action.
- Be Courageous (like Esther): Sometimes, God calls you to take a risk.
- Speak Up (like the servant girl): Your voice can change lives.
- Trust God’s Power (like Jairus’s daughter): When life feels overwhelming, remember God is in control.

This was a very beautiful read especially about the servant girl and Mirriam because at times I always ask myself who am I? What impact can i have but reading this has showed me that something so small can have a ripple effect.
Beautiful and inspiring.
Thank you for bringing a different perspective to these women who said yes to God.
Mary challenge’s me the most, because despite everything that was at stake, she didn’t doubt God’s power to do everything for her God.
This helped me so much when I wasn’t even expecting it…. I’m currently in a tough situation and I’m all messed up, but after reading this I feel so much lighter. Godfidence for the W!❤💯
