PLANTING SEEDS OF DIGITAL GREATNESS: MTN & ZNSF LAUNCH THE SKILLS ACADEMY

Heart & Hustle The Scene

On 19 November 2025, a powerful shift in Zambia’s digital future was set in motion as the MTN Zambia Foundation and the Zambian National STEM Foundation (ZNSF) launched the MTN X ZNSF Skills Academy at MTN Headquarters. The event gathered leaders, educators, partners, and learners for what felt less like a press briefing and more like the unveiling of a new national vision.

Hon. Felix Mutati, Minister of Technology and Science, highlighted the urgency of the moment. With only 31.2% of the population using the internet and a low national uptake in STEM fields—especially among young women—Zambia faces a widening digital skills gap. Yet this partnership offers a direct and practical response.

The MTN Skills Academy will provide free online training in digital literacy, coding, financial literacy, data science, mentorship, and job readiness. Over 1,500 students across 15 schools will benefit from structured digital education that aligns with Zambia’s Smart Zambia Digital Transformation Strategy and national STEM development goals.

ZNSF COO Dr. Mah Asombang captured the heart of the initiative, calling it “a transformational movement” designed to ignite curiosity and grow talent. She emphasized that talent is cultivated, not inherited, and this program gives learners the tools to dream boldly and solve real-world problems creatively.

For GODfidence Magazine, this moment reflects a deeper truth: investing in young people is a form of stewardship. Empowering them with knowledge is not just a technological duty—it is hope in action.

The Skills Academy marks a new chapter where Zambia prepares its next generation to innovate, compete, and lead. With partnerships like this, the seeds of a brighter, smarter nation are already being planted—and the harvest promises to be extraordinary.
