A New Standard Set at the RCV Music Awards

The inaugural Radio Christian Voice Music Awards (RCVMAs), held on November 30, 2024, at Lusaka Music Club in East Park Mall, has set a new benchmark for music events in Zambia. The ceremony, which celebrated Christian excellence, drew a diverse crowd of music creators and contributors.

The evening kicked off with a glamorous red carpet event, followed by the official awards ceremony. Attendees were treated to outstanding performances, starting with Trinah Lusaka‘s rendition of the national anthem, which many described as almost spiritual.

A heartfelt tribute to the legendary Matthew Ngosa by Sinai, Janet Mwandu, and Pastor Leo was another highlight of the night. The event also shone a spotlight on the expanding Zambian gospel hip hop scene, with award winners like Josh the Artist, Yellow Dove, Pompi, and Mag 44; who took home the Producer of the Year award for the first time.

Despite a few minor microphone glitches, the technical execution, particularly the sound, was exemplary. The event ran smoothly and on schedule, but the joy and excitement in the room kept the celebration going well into the night.

If you missed the live event, the premiere will be broadcast your local TV stations; MOZO TV at 18:00 and CROWN TV at 18:30 on December 5, 2024. Witnessing the first-ever RCV Music Awards was truly an experience to remember.
